Explore 19127 Berkley Commons: Spacious Living and Custom Upgrades in Jetton Cove

For years, even before we called Jetton Cove home, we would bring our kids to the neighborhood for trick-or-treating. While they were ringing doorbells for candy, we were chatting with the many neighbors gathered around firepits, asking if they knew of anyone looking to sell their home. We quickly assured them we weren’t on the hunt for homes to list; it was because, as realtors familiar with every corner of Lake Norman, we knew deep in our hearts this was the neighborhood we wanted to call our own.

While every corner of Jetton Cove holds its unique appeal, we were always drawn to the homes closest to Jetton Road. They gave us a sense of nostalgia and familiarity, reminding us of the early days of our careers. When Brian began his new home sales career, he sold for NV Homes. NV Homes was the custom homebuilder under the NVR umbrella, which also included Ryan Homes—where we met. We had always loved NV Homes and their floorplans—in fact, once, before we had kids, we even drove to Northern Virginia just to visit one of their models! Brian knew the names of every floorplan by the front elevation and the custom features that made NV Homes unique. From the full oak treads on the stairs to exterior architectural details like brick-wrapped quoins, he was well-versed in the quality workmanship NV Homes offered compared to other builders. In fact, his background gives him insight into the custom details that most of the homeowners in Jetton Cove don’t even realize their homes showcase!

Much of the charm in this neighborhood comes from how homes are often sold by word of mouth, with many homeowners in this section having moved here from other parts of Jetton Cove. It’s one of those places where neighbors talk, share stories, and help one another find their next perfect home. Because homes don’t often come on the market here, we were thrilled at the opportunity to list this beautiful home for sale!

The home at 19127 Berkley Commons offers the perfect blend of elegant aesthetics and comfortable living spaces. Right away, you’re greeted by the stunning staircase in the foyer—it’s definitely one of those perfect “prom picture” staircases. To your right, French doors open to a study, and just beyond the powder room is a first-floor bedroom with a door leading to the back deck.

This home provides plenty of space with six bedrooms, ideal for family or overnight guests. The last time I was there, it occurred to me that while I personally don’t have a need for a first-floor bedroom, it would be amazing to have my own private office since Brian and I both work from home.  As an introvert prone to distraction, the thought of having a second office or even a place of my own to unwind and read a book is a dream. In fact, I was considering building a “she shed” in our backyard just to have a space like this home offers- haha.

Going back to the foyer, the dining room is to the left as you walk in. It’s perfect for meals and gatherings, while the butler’s pantry, conveniently located between the dining room and the kitchen, makes entertaining a breeze.

The kitchen is intentionally designed to make cooking a breeze for any chef. It features a large center island, an abundance of cabinets, and professional appliances—including a commercial-grade refrigerator, gas cooktop, double wall oven, and microwave. Brian is the cook in our family, so after being his occasional sous chef, I know how much I can appreciate the plentiful cabinet and countertop space. The kitchen also features a charming corner window, adding a nostalgic touch. Being familiar with NV Homes, we know that typically an added morning room negates the corner window, but the spaciousness of this house allows for both.

The kitchen bar top area overlooks the bright morning room, which has windows on all sides. It works great as an additional dining area for daily family meals or as a cheerful sitting room. A door from the morning room leads to the outdoor deck. Recently replaced, the oversized deck is large enough to provide areas for seating and outdoor dining. The sellers even had the foresight to add a rain blocker, ensuring the patio below is shielded from rain and becomes a second outdoor living space.

Stepping into the family room, you can't help but be drawn to the beautiful palladium window that the sellers recently replaced.  We have a similar one in our house so I know how much natural light shines through and the Hunter Douglas screen shades are a standout feature. They retract to reveal the window's wooded views during the day or can be closed for privacy when we're hunkering down for a movie night.

Great Room 19127 Berkley Commons

One feature this great floorplan has would be a real game-changer for our family, it's the rear staircase right off the family room. It would be a lifesaver on those hectic school mornings when the kids are scrambling to get ready. They can zip down from their rooms, grab their breakfast, and head out the door without ever stepping into the more formal parts of the house.

The three secondary bedrooms are linked by an updated bathroom that is equipped with a double-sink granite countertop, and the spacious, subway-tiled shower is practical, unassuming yet stylish—perfect for siblings sharing a space or guests visiting.

The unique primary bedroom suite has versatile areas to really customize the spaces to define the room as your own retreat.  The main room is spacious with room for a king size bed and large furniture while the walk-in, custom closet keeps everything everythig organized. There is an open step down section that is just the spot for a quiet reading or wellness area and beyond that is another space that is ideal as a second closet or a spot for a quick workout.

Now, about the bathrooms—there are two! One has a relaxing corner tub and a separate shower, and the other is located adjacent to the step down area.  It is ideal for a couple who need to get ready at the same time or could be converted into a steam shower, ideal right after a session in your mini home gym.

When I saw the finished basement for the first time, I could totally see how it would easily become the go-to spot for just about everything our family loves to do.

Right off the bat, there is this awesome rec room. It's split into a few different areas, so everyone's got their spot. The largest open area with built in speakers and AV equipment is perfect for family movie nights or Superbowl parties and the wet bar is a total winner.  Whether it's whipping up some snacks or pouring drinks for friends during a game, it's got everything you need- with stylish cabinets, granite, beverage center and sink.  Plus, it's so nice having everything right there; no need to trek upstairs when you're in the middle of the fun.

There's also plenty of space for the kids to spread out with their toys and games, making it a hassle-free zone for playtime.

If you are looking for ideas for the corner of the basement, it would make an ideal space for a golf simulator.  A few years ago my brother introduced me to golf and since we don’t have a basement, it’s been hard for me to find a place I could set something like that up without having to move our cars out each time I want to practice.  Same thing with our kids- it would be great to have a space where they can play indoor soccer or use the pickleball set when the weather isn’t nice.   Or maybe turn that space into a virtual reality gaming area – the kids (and let's be honest, the adults too) would absolutely love it!

And there's this great bedroom with its own exit, which is perfect for the older kids or guests. They get their privacy and freedom without feeling like they're stepping on anyone's toes.  The full bathroom down here is so convenient. It keeps everyone from having to dash upstairs for bathroom breaks, which is a lifesaver during those long movie marathons or when the basement is full of guests.

It's really more than just a basement; it's a complete second living space!

Step out into our backyard, and you'll discover it's not just any ordinary space—it's a flat, versatile expanse that's rare to find in homes with a basement. This flat layout opens up endless possibilities for family activities and entertaining, from impromptu soccer matches to elegant outdoor dinners.

When you step outside from the basement you walk onto the covered patio underneath the deck- complete with the rain guard I mentioned early so you stay dry- no matter the weather.  It’s like having a second outdoor living space where you could host a barbecue on sunny days, enjoy a quiet evening outside during a drizzle or just watch the rain without getting wet- this spot has you covered—literally!

The yard is fenced, perfect for when the kids or pets are out playing. Plus, there's a gate that leads directly to a mountain biking and hiking trail that is protected by the Catawba Lands Conservancy and maintained by the Carolina Trailblazers.

It’s a nature lover's dream, right in your backyard, giving you instant access to scenic views and vigorous hikes or rides.

With Jetton Cove’s Jr. Olympic Size Pool & Kiddie Pool, Cabana, Playground, paved walking trails and a short walk to parks, shopping, restaurants and entertainment- it’s easy to see why this is the perfect home for homebuyers looking for a spacious home in one of the best walkable locations in Cornelius and the Lake Norman Area!
